About Me

About Me

I took my first Pilates class in 2015 while living in Chicago to decrease chronic shoulder pain. I was looking for something long-term that could help me correct muscle imbalances, strengthen my upper body and improve my posture. After just a few sessions I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt, not only physically but mentally and have been hooked ever since. In 2019 after moving back to Michigan to be close to family I decided it was time for a new start. I left my job as a dental hygienist and turned my love of Pilates and enthusiasm for teaching others into a career.

My teaching approach provides clients with customized, challenging programs that blends traditional and contemporary Pilates variations to enhance the workout and keep things fresh while focusing on the individual needs of each client. I encourage my clients to feel free with their practice, ask questions and find ways to integrate the movement principles into their everyday activities.

While I enjoy teaching group classes, I like the personalized approach and focused attention that one-on-one sessions offer. I also find the hard work and accelerated progress that clients make in the private environment to be very rewarding.

I completed the STOTT comprehensive teacher training program through Equilibrium Studio in July 2019,  Pure Body comprehensive teacher training program in 2021 and Pre and Postnatal Intensive in 2022.

I am a wellness fanatic who loves to travel, eat good food and spend as much time as I can with my daughter and husband.
I first discovered Pilates while living in Chicago in 2015. A friend of mine swore by it and claimed it would help with my chronic shoulder pain, so I decided to give it a try. We went to a group reformer class at a small studio. My stomach immediately dropped after seeing pieces of equipment that looked like medieval torture devices. After just a few minutes on the reformer I felt more relaxed and at ease. We moved through the exercises slowly with control while focusing on our breath. I had never felt more connected to my body during a workout before. I walked out of the studio on cloud nine. My shoulder felt better than it had in years, I felt taller, stronger and lighter. After that day, I was hooked. I started taking classes three times a week, and after a few months my body had gone from weak and painful to strong and capable. My debilitating shoulder pain was nearly gone, I no longer had neck pain or daily headaches, and for the first time, I was able to do my job as a dental hygienist pain-free. This life-changing experience led to a desire to help people suffering from chronic pain experience the many benefits of Pilates for years to come.

I look at each unique body as a whole, providing effective guidance, and attention to alignment while working toward greater mobility, strength and balance. We will work together to reach your full potential in a fun and supportive environment. My goal for you is to leave each session feeling better than when you arrived, equipped with the tools you need to improve overall health and do the activities you love.

I am a student first, and a teacher second, which means I am committed to continual growth and education. You can feel confident knowing I will always be pursuing up to date education to give you the highest quality Pilates sessions. So far this has included over 900 hours of comprehensive teacher training, workshops focusing on injuries, pre/postnatal as well as a six month teacher mentorship program. Outside of teaching, I spend my time watching true crime shows, traveling the world with my husband, eating great food, laughing with friends, and cuddling with my cat, Allie.
